Power Switch: A scenario for the WCML North route by Keith Ross.
Installation Instructions.
There are 2 versions of the scenario included. One using the RSC 86 Pack, with the correct for the period 86/2 & one using a BR Blue reskin of the 86/4 that comes with WCML North, along with the default Mk2 carriages & container wagons. The two scenarios have slightly different timings to account for the less powerful 86/4, so make sure you install the correct one.
If you have the RSC 86 pack, install Power Switch_RSC.rwp. If using the WCML 86, install Power Switch_WCML.rwp
Extract the required rwp file to your desired location and install using the Railworks Package Manager.

Scenario Background
The scenario is set on a May afternoon in 1982. You start on the centre roads at Carlisle, in charge of a Class 86. You are waiting to attach to the coaches of the 1025 Nottingham - Glasgow service which has recently arrived. The diesel loco which brought this train up from Leeds is just uncoupling and moving out of the way. There is a mixture of traffic about, including freight movements to/from Kingmoor Yard. Timing points to note are as follows: Carlisle dep 1508; Gretna Jn pass 1515 1/2; Lockerbie pass 1527; Beattock pass 1535 1/2; Beattock Summit pass 1543 1/2; Carstairs pass 1601 1/2; Law Jn pass 1608 1/2; Motherwell arr 1613 1/2 dep 1616 & Glasgow Central arr 1632.
Passenger services are based on the Working Timetables covering 81/82 and are labeled with their reporting code, time of departure, origin & destination. Freight services are mainly fictional, but are generally appropriate for the line/time period. The formations are based on study of period photographs and personal knowledge.
The Class 317 has been used, as none of the AC EMUs that operated in the Glasgow area at the time have been made for Railworks yet, and it is the best substitute at this moment. I hope this situation can be rectified in the future.
