Commercial Publishing

Through involvement as a developer in the commercial add-on industry from close to its birth, we are committed to work with individuals, groups and companies involved in the creation of add-on products to maximise their sales and returns. Central to this commitment is our belief that the developers who do most of the work should gain a much larger return on their investment of time and expertise than is the case with existing publishers.

What we want from you

We already represent one of the best known producers of add-ons in the UK and are proud that their latest products form a part of our portfolio. Naturally we are always ready to discuss proposals from other developers and would urge you to contact us today for an informal discussion.

We're not only interested in established groups, companies or individuals but any individual or group who has a route or stock pack idea they want to actively pursue to completion as a fully blown commercial product. All we ask is that you are willing and able to produce products that meet with our high expectations in terms of quality and are supported in a professional manner.

Publishing for a Cause

Over the past couple of years it has become apparent that computer rail simulators can be a potent fund-raising resource for charities, rolling stock restoration groups and heritage railways.

Evidence of this can be seen by the large amount of money raised on behalf of The AC Locomotive group for the purchase of the unique Class 89 Locomotive by the train simulator community. This if further underlined by the charity packs produced to raise funds for the restoration of the sole remaining Class 15 locomotive. Also worthy of note is an add-on made available by Making Tracks to raise funds for Woking Homes in memory of one of their founding members.

Alongside our full commercial products and working with our developers we are pleased to offer a minimal cost production and distribution service for charity products.

If you are the owner of an individual piece of rolling stock, a preservation group with a number of items or even a representative of a heritage railway we should be able to help you tap into the extra revenue stream available from the armchair enthusiasts. What you want producing and distributing is entirely up to you from a single locomotive to a recreation of your entire railway we should be able to put you in touch with the people who can make this  reality.

The cost and commitment on your part is as large or small as you want it to be, in reality the most that would be needed is liaison to allow research and asset creation to take place by the developers along with involvement in testing and providing information for the manual. In return we at Fastline in partnership with our developers will create a high quality product specially for you. Even the choice of distribution methods is up to you, a CD, download or both is your decision along with deciding if your route is stocked by anyone else.

It is our intention to ensure you make the highest possible return on your product and as such would only expect to deduct a minimal royalty for ourselves and the developer once the media duplication costs (if applicable) have been deducted from the wholesale price. We will also happily sell your product in our own shop and distribute to customers for a very small charge. We're even prepared to be flexible about the amount of CDs produced and shipped to you for your own distribution meaning there's no requirement for you to lay out large amounts of capital on stock.
