To complete the year in style we're pleased to announce the release of our ZCA Sea Urchins addon for RailWorks Train Simulator 2012 based on the chassis of our highly successful VDA vans stock pack.
Featuring both of the main body variants, on two different chassis styles and painted in Engineers grey and yellow 'Dutch' livery this RailWorks addon also contains loaded versions of the wagon with four different ballast and aggregate loads, an empty version and rear versions of all of these with a BR mk1battery, flashing tail lamp.
The enclosed scenario allows you take your new wagons for a late evening spin behind a class 37 from Acton to Hinksey Yard near Oxford for loading in preparation for engineering works during the coming weekend.
As a bonus, and to improve scenario realism, a set of battery powered temporary speed restriction signs and portable AWS magnet are included in the pack and used in the enclosed scenario.
At a stupidly reasonable £3.00 including VAT can your simulator really feel complete without this add-on?

Ages of the Train is a phrase we've been punting around for a few weeks now and we're pleased to formally announce that it is the name of our new range of scenario packs for RailWorks Train Simulator along with an announcement of the first pack in the range.
Building on the ethos of the scenarios included with our stock packs each scenario pack will contain five prototypical scenarios for one route with a common theme from a logical period of railway history. Actual periods that have been defined at this time are: 1968 - 1972, 1973 - 1986 and 1987 - 1994.
Each scenario features actual train formations and motive power (where known) for the individual services and prototypical routing where possible.
Rolling stock and routes will be drawn from our own and a range of other commercial products including Iron Horse House - our preferred motive power provider.
Ages of the Train 01: ECML Freight 1973 - 1986
The first release in the range features a selection of Goods Trains from what many consider the classic Diesel and Electric era of British Rail on the default Newcastle to York route.

After much tweaking, checking, worrying if Train Simulator 2012 would break them and drowning under all those models, we're pleased (and relieved) to announce that the VDA vans add-on for Railworks 3 is now available to purchase in the shop.
Featuring all four lots of VDA produced by Ashford and Shildon works this Train Simulator 2012 expansion contains no less than 132 different models in 5 liveries and two states of weathering. Loaded and empty versions (with suitable physics) are included along with rear versions, complete with oil tail lamp, to give you total control for prototypical use.
As an added bonus (to allow the prototypical running of one of the Scenarios) a BR dia 1/507 brake van with through vacuum and air pipes (TOPS code CAR) is also included in both Bauxite and Yellow and Railfreight Flame Red and Grey liveries. These models also come with two states of weathering, smoking stove and non smoking, in train and rear versions carrying lamps for both fitted and unfitted trains.
Four Scenarios are included from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s featuring known train services from the relevant working time tables and formations (within the limits of default rolling stock).
The improved graphics engine of Train Simulator 2012 really brings these models alive but they still sport stencil shadows to ensure they look impressive in legacy mode too!
At a stupidly reasonable £3.00 including VAT can your simulator really feel complete without this add-on?

We're pleased to announce today a surprise stock pack for RailWorks Train Simulator 2012 that wasn't on the radar until a couple of weeks ago - ZCA Sea Urchin open wagons.
In a twist of inspiration the decision was made to quickly slot in a pack of these 1993 built engineers wagons before launching full scale into the Night Capitals stock pack.
The wagons (one of a number of different designs to be coded ZCA Sea Urchin) were built on the underframes of surplus VDA vans and it seemed a logical route to follow in the footsteps of the real life railway.
The untextured shapes are already with the testers so release should be fairly rapidly after the VDA vans.

We're really excited to formally announce our second route under development for RailWorks Train Simulator 2012 to take us firmly into the industrial heart of the country.
Set in the Stoke-on-Trent area in the 1970s this is no high speed passenger route but more the bread and butter of the railways: Coal Mines; Quarries and Power Stations with a supporting cast of remote yards and junctions, single track and some challenging gradients.
Forget any ideas about breaking the speed record, with some very low line speeds, extreme gradients and unfitted trains the only thing you'll be worried about breaking is the string of wagons behind!
